This here is some advocated tuneage .....
It is so cool to be a musician in the SF area. We are fortunate enough to have a fair amount of live venues to play at and just about every touring act looks forward to playing here due to the general rabid interest of the fans here.  Although the "industry" is more based in LA, there are far more performing outlets for  musicians here (as much as we would like to see more...) considering the LA area has quadruple our population. On the same token, many bands I have enjoyed have come out of the Bay Area scene.
Being a sax player has the advantage of being able to sit in with people on a more informal basis and I have had a great time doing so over the years with friends bands, filling in for other horn players, or just trying to find a good fit in a band to play with. To right  >
are some links to some hot jams and some cool bands.
